Rod Stroup — Fire Loss Manager

Rod Stroup is currently the Senior Fire Project Manager for ServiceMaster of Baltimore. Rod has seven years experience as a Large Loss Insurance Adjuster. Having also been an insurance restoration company owner, Rod is well versed in both residential and commercial building practices. Rod holds certifications including Water Damage Restoration Technician (OCT) through the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC). Other related certifications include Biohazard Cleanup through the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and LEAD Certification through The State of Maryland. Rod has been married for 27 years and has two children and one grandchild. Rod enjoys yoga and officiates ice hockey in his spare time.

Harry Schmidt has been employed with ServiceMaster of Baltimore for 18 years. He started as a Technician’s Assistant and, after several years, became a Crew Leader. Most recently he has held the position of Project Manager specializing in water, sewage and mold. Harry is accredited with the IIRC in AMRT (Applied Microbial Remediation), WTR (Water Restoration) and FSRT (Fire Smoke Restoration). He also holds certifications in Trauma and Biohazard clean-up as well as OSHA training. He enjoys fishing and boating and is a member of Prince Lutheran Church in Rosedale; he volunteers his time wherever possible. Harry is married with 3 stepchildren and 2 grandchildren. He currently resides in Rosedale, but is originally from Frankfurt, Germany.

Jose Machado, Assistant Director of Waster/Sewage/Mold Remediation

Jose Machado has been with ServiceMaster of Baltimore for 16 years. He started as a Field Technician and is now Assistant Waste Manager specializing in water sewage mitigation and restoration. Jose is biligual and is able to assist with all facets of the business where this skill is necessary. He is IIRC certified in WTR (Water Restoration) as well as lead paint and blood borne pathogens restoration. Jose has 3 children and enjoys playing music in his spare time, including instruments such as the bass, drum, and piano.

Pack-Out


ServiceMaster of Baltimore has a skilled pack-out team. We function as a moving company for insurance purposes. We specialize in restoring items if they were damaged directly from the loss.

There are 3 types of “Pack-Out” services:

  • In House
    In case of a small loss, and if there is space available, we will try to store your contents in the home first. This is the most comfortable and convenient option for the homeowner or tenant. We will come in and move the items and clean/restore if necessary.
  • Container/Pod
    If there is no space available to store the contents in the home, we will move them to a container or pod stored on-site. This usually occurs with smaller water damages, if repairs need to be made to the home, or if water mitigation is required.
  • Off-site
    We will store your contents off-site at our warehouse during the mitigation/restoration of your home. This usually happens when large losses occur, in case of reconstruction, or if the household items need to be restored. We will store your items in a clean environment.

Tom Davies, Director of Pack-out

Tom Davies — Pack Out Manager

Tom Davies is a Field Project Manager. He currently handles all pack-outs, contents packing, moving of contents, cleaning, warehousing, storage, as well as other duties. Tom worked for a top 3 insurance carrier for 17 ½ years from 1999–2007. He’s completed AEI insurance classes. After working in office and handling multi-line policies, he was moved into the field in 1999 as a large loss content adjuster for approximately 8 years. Tom started working for ServiceMaster of Baltimore in September of 2007. Tom likes golfing, skiing, and poker, but his favorite past time is motocross. He raced for 15 years and still rides about 6 times a year. He has a wife and a 19 year old daughter. His wife is the office manager for an orthodontics office and has been in her field for 25 years. Tom’s daughter attends Stevenson University and plays on the lacrosse team.
